Losses due to air leakages are generally responsible for 20-50% of the compressor system consumptions.
We should also remember :
Most of the leaks are not audible to human ears (leaks with frequencies above 20 kHz are not perceived). Ultrasonic instruments allow the detection of leaks with frequency up to 40-100 kHz.
Furthermore, it is important to underline that leaks are mainly located in end users than in the distribution lines.

Operative steps
Identification of the compressed air leakage points on the distribution network and on the end users through an measurement system that identifies ultrasounds generated by leaks
Classification of leaks by size in 3 categories and assignment to each identified loss with a specific identification tag (green, yellow, red), according to the severity of the leakage
Arrangement of a complete report containing a photographic mapping of all the leaks and their location on the layout of the plant. In addition, the report contains an energy and economic assessment of the costs coming from these losses and the savings that can be obtained with appropriate maintenance operations.
